Would you still buy a GS6?

I'm trying to decide between one of these at $350 or a GS7 at $650. Other than the improved battery on the S7, is there any other compelling reason to choose the S7 over the S6?

Help me decide - thanks!

It is water resistant and is faster, according to Geekbench and the like. Some say the camera is better, others say it's not as good. It also has expandable storage, if you're into that kind of thing. The S6 is still very much up to date, but you could buy the S6 and save the extra money for the S8 if you're the type who upgrades frequently. They are both very similar and have their pros and cons, but you should go to Best Buy or your carrier and see them both in person before you make your final decision.

Well, my Galaxy S6 runs at AT&T NO Android Platform Upgrade here. I bought my S6 with 64GB internal memory. You must do some tweaking to the S6 cause no big battery here. There are lot of Samsung blotware and AT&T, in my particular case, blotware. So I'm just waiting for the arrival of Google Nexus 2016 phone. My S6 is at 5.1 Lollipop, no upgrade to Marshmallow at AT&T. If you have the money to buy a Galaxy S7 then wait till the arrival of Google Nexus 2016 phone or go for the current Nexus 6p. Go for the 64GB version. If you are short of money then go for the Galaxy S6. Remember with a Google Nexus phone the Android Platform Upgrade it's for real. With Samsung you are going to wait and wait for a upgrade and if you are at AT&T forget about upgrades.

$350 is a great deal for an S6. I bought mine about 1 year ago on launch day, and it's been working great. So much so, I don't see a need to upgrade to the newer S7. I have the AT&T version and I'm still waiting for the Marshmellow OS update (which for some reason is taking forever), but I do expect it.

I have the unlocked S6.
I like all the new bells and whistles on the S7 4G RAM, waterproof, better camera, memory card slot, active display. It's just missing one thing the S6 has..The Infrared Blaster! For me that's the deal breaker. I know don't matter for most folks but I use it a lot.
Hoping the next flagship phone will bring the IR back.

gs7 is supposed to be what the gs6 should have been so I hear 😃 ...but depends on cash in the end

I'm my opinion, you shouldn't go for the S6 simply because of the battery life. I HAVE to charge my S6 Edge at around 3PM every day. Every single day. I have a Mophie battery case and I have had days where I drain my phone battery, juice it back up with the case, and drain my phone battery again before the end of the day (basically, in 15ish hours I drain my phone completely twice). The S7 is worth it just for the battery (more specifically, the S7 Edge w/the larger capacity). Other than the battery life the S6 is a good phone. Performance is quite smooth on Marshmallow and I've noticed better RAM management as well (which was an issue on Lollipop).

Another vote for the S7 - it's a more polished version of the S6. It improves in almost every area.

Other than water/dust resistant and micro SD slot, for me personally, the s7 won't be getting purchased. Yeah a bit of an upgrade to the ram and CPU also but you won't notice any difference. Ive been on my father in law's s7 edge and see no difference with my s6
