Would you trade your V10 for a new iPhone 6s Plus 128GB ?

My wife is trying to get me on the Apple tree and would buy me a brand new iPhone 6s Plus 128GB just to join her madness. :-\

Would you dump your V10 for a new iPhone 6s Plus 128GB? :p

I have both lol...some apps I love using on iPhone and vice versa

Working on the theory that there's no such thing as "mine" or "hers" in a marriage, I wouldn't drop another $600 of "our" money on another phone when I have a pretty new one that works just fine right now.

Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're thinking too much.

They're 2 different phones in the sense of what they set out to accomplish.

The V10 is obviously a power user's choice, with a removable battery, SD card slot, neat camera features, durable build and features. The iPhone is focused on delivering an essential user-experience without anything extra that could detract the user-experience.

They're both targeting different segments and honestly, being a long-time Android user, I'd pick the V10 mainly due to its flexibility in terms of functionality. If we're talking about a second phone, I'd go with the iPhone, because my main phone will always be an Android device and I like to mix it up with an iOS device so that I can enjoy both devices without settling.

I came to android from Apple a few years ago and have never looked back. I would tell my wife absolutely not! Of course that would never happen in my house as my wife has always hated Apple anyway. She's the one that handed me her Galaxy S3 and I wanted my iPhone to do what hers did out of the box without jailbreaking it as I did with my iPhones. Don't miss my iPhone at all now.

I just came back to android after having the iPhone for the last year... I missed it... Used to hate it (iOS) but now it's changed my mind, but I just got bored and decided to come back

No. Not at all. You will be very disappointed if you are a camera and music person.

I would honestly be tempted. I use my phones well past the times I should to be honest (I used my 4s until just 3 weeks ago when I go the v10, before then was on the Palm Pre Plus for a couple years, before that an older blackberry). I miss some of the ease of iOS would love to see the OS on a phone that it was meant to run on.

Ask me again in a 6~12 months. Lets see how many more of my V10 features (besides the fingerprint reader) dies. Thats not to say an iPhone is 100% reliable, nothing is really. But in the ~3 years I owned a 5C nothing ever failed on it. 2 maybe 3 iOS quirks required me to reboot the phone. My wifes 4S was similarly reliable in the 6 years she has owned that.

So for now, lets just say I am 50/50. One things for certain... if fingerprint scanning is a high priority, go with apple.

Wait... you can and do all of that using a smart phone's tiny display... or are you referring to using a tablet?

It's an amazing phone. I've been an Android purist for years, but I finally had it with the lack of consistency between devices and lame slow updates from my fave device makers.

The experience is way better than previous iPhones I've used (one for work, friends' and family's). 3D touch is hard to justify as something you'd want or need until you play some games with it and it immediately makes sense. I have a lot of fun dicking around with music apps with 3D touch support as well. I can get all kinds of vibrato and other note control with it that makes music fun actually long term fun.

Camera experience is awesome. I've been taking great shots usually first try and it launches hella' fast. Live photos seemed super dumb at first, but I actually love it. Catching a funny look on my girlfriend's face after a photo is great. I've made some gifs from live photos a few times that were fun to share with coworkers (working remotely - shared some snow gifs).

I use a Macbook for work currently and it pairs with that great. There are a number of apps I like using with both. I've got Parcel for tracking packages going on both, can answer my phone on the Macbook, see my txts on my Macbook (without any ****e software) and I've really been digging Airdrop for large'ish file transfers with friends and colleagues when I need to get it over to them in a pinch.

Customizing my phone is not fun for me anymore. I've got desktop PC builds for that.

I just haven't felt like an Android phone has been a complete thought lately (I really did love my HTC One M7).

The iPhone 6s (maybe the 6 as well?) do have some decent water protection. Worth a thought. Not a fan of iPhone durability when it comes to drops. So I got the best insurance I could get for the phone. I dropped my HTC One on concrete several times and held together without a problem... but that raised glass freaks me out on iPhones.

I feel like I might be rocking this phone for quite a while. :-) It's a solid phone and I highly recommend if you can get a free 128 GB (what I've got), definitely go that route.

yes. I would. If you don't like it, the iPhone 6S+ 128 will sell for enough to buy the V10 again later.

Funny, I actually traded my 6s + 64gb for my v10. I ain't looking back.

I would make the trade and resell the iPhone 6s plus for $1000, and then buy the V10 again LOL
