I wanna get this phone..but I wonder how easy itd scratch...and its one of those things where I feel like it would look better without the case. Thinking of just putting a zagg on full body. Has anyone done this yet? It looks so much more sexier without any cases i feel like.

Mine has never had a case on it and it's been almost a month. I am careful and have insurance. No visible scratches thus far but even if it did get one on the aluminum it appears fairly easy to rub out. I went 2 years with my iPhone 4s naked and it was still in great shape when I sold it for the One. I know it's a risk but I don't like cases especially on such a nice looking phone as this. To each his own though I say:)

No case or screen protector here. I've never liked the look or feel of screen protectors, and feel that with a phone as nice looking as the One it would be a shame to hide it inside a case. Of course, I'm very careful with my phones ... the last phone I used a protector or case on was an iPhone 3G, ditched the case and screen protector on that and have gone through the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S naked since then. The only one to get any type of scratch was the 4S, and that was with well over a year of use. I've had my One for a couple weeks now, carried in my pocket both at home and work, and so far no sign of scratching on the aluminum at all ... or the glass either for that matter, but with Gorilla Glass 2 it seems more likely that, with normal use, you'd scratch the aluminum before you would the glass.

One of the online mobile mags (don't remember which one, sorry) did a video on the durability of the One. The tried scratching the screen and the back with keys, a knife etc. Amazingly resistant to scratches! Watching the video made me wince!

I go naked sometimes, it really depends on the situation for me. If I am at home or work, I go naked to enjoy how awesome the phone looks and feels. But if I am on the move and in a high risk environment that baby goes in a case.

I didn't get it for its looks. I got it because its a tool that fits into my life. So it was Otterboxed before I left store.

I like the sliminess of my HTC One naked, but it's just too darn slippery for me and I'm paranoid that I'll drop it. So, I've got an Incipio Feather case which just adds a little bit of bulk but makes it easier to hold.

My phones are always naked :)

Me too... I loathe screen protectors and cases in addition to the extra bulk always seem to attract cat hair and junk around the edges and bother me as well.

My phones never stay pristine but so far (knock on wood) I haven't had major damage in many years.

The chamfered edges will dent easy with drops, metal can get groves in it, but as far as scratches go well I have a story.
I was sitting there doing my physics final when bam, my phone flew out my pocket. It was scratches pretty hard in 3 places. Needless to say I was mad, went home and ordered a carbon-fiber case. Fast forward two days, I get out of the shower and look at my phone, it looks like the scratches are wearing out and then bam, I use my towel and the scratches magically disappeared. This is apparently due to anodized aluminum's resistance to scratches which can be seen on the mohs scale of hardness.

My HTC One has been naked ever since I got it (1 week now). I didn't have a chance to take it running yet but so far from pretty "normal" use, everything seems fine.

But I'll be honest, I'm kind of scared to drop it. This phone seems so easy to drop due to the lack of grip my hands have for it.

I installed a zagg full body shield on my phone. I always liked the look and feel of the zagg, plus you can hardly tell it's on.

No because I already lose money by upgrading, as much as I love I know I will sell it in the Fall/Winter.

I would love to use it without a case, I bought a Nillkin cover but can't even use it because it just protects the back & sides, leaves the Chamfered Edges exposed. I know how easily it can get chipped because bought the exact same case for my 64GB iPod touch 5G. So I bought a TPU that completely protects it.

3 days in, no case. I did however order a clear gel/hard plastic case online. Should let some of the beauty show.

I also use a clear case and screen protector. I never use it naked because I work on concrete and am afraid of dropping it.

I've been naked for about a week now. Love the feel of it, but be careful because it can be a bit slippery. I'm planning to get a sleeve to offer protection in my bag, but other than that, I love the feel of it in my hand.
