Wow, another Samsung phone on fire

the reason I only use high quality cables and chargers. it might have been the phone but I've seen some weird things happen with cheap charging accessories.

The power adapter on the car is usually not as regulated as the home power port. If you use cheap, made-in-China junk, expect the unit to smoke up.. there are no standards in the Chinese mass produced knock-off market.. unfortunately small mom and pop stores (even pre-paid) like heavily depended Metro PCS buys cheap junk cables and chargers from knock-off factories in China.. They make products that appear to work in the short term.. however they usually end up in flames.. you get what you pay for

You don't know if it was a cheap charger

Also the battery itself has built in protection circuits. Those are suppose to prevent overcharging etc..

Car chargers are absolutely the worst. I've had some of the cheapos overheat my phone. Get a DC to AC converter. Many new autos already have built in ac power.

While Chinese products can be cheap... I'm not sure what that has to do with this article? I don't remember reading it was due to a cheap Chinese knock off. So do you have somewhere that says that or are you just wildly assuming something with no facts and pretending it is fact?

a lot of chargers I've use were made in China. Even most products I've used were made in China. it's almost inescapeable unless you actively scrutinize and avoid buying anything with a "made in China" sticker.

even if it doesn't say it, some parts inside we're probably made in China.

hope this catching fire biz doesn't result in Samsung getting a lawsuit from Hunger Games franchise. Samsung: Catching Fire.
