Wow, the optimus v is sold out everywhere

I rooted using that superoneclick program, flashed cwma recovery, flashed custom rom, and wiped cache. What am I doing wrong?
Ceejay83, if you can return it and get another then more power to you. But if you cant you need to do what Desmock is telling you because what I noticed is that when you flash to different roms, alot of the same files stay on the phone from one rom to the other. I still need to understand that better myself but I have noticed that. Doing a clean wipe and stock reinstall will help determine things if you have no choice...good luck!
Then flash it back to stock and take it back to where you bought it or send it back to LG. That sucks
Went to Best Buy 3 days ago and they had about 7 on the shelves. Went back today and they had none.

Getting back on topic, I bought this phone on the 16th of this month and paid for extra to get it here over night, but it seems them still let me purchase the phone from the website even though it was out of stock. Not to mention it was supposed to be my birthday present on sat the 19th. Once I get my phone what kind of hell should I give them and what free stuff should I ask for because Im pissed at the company.

You bought the phone knowing it was out of stock.
I can goto any carrier and buy out of stock phones and pay for overnight shipping. Doesnt mean they will crap one out and ship it. If its not in the warehouse and it says out of stock on the website, you are at fault for attempting to buy it.
Out of stock means out of stock. Allowing you to buy one just puts you as one of the first to get it as soon as it comes available again. I suggest canceling the order and start hitting up the retail outlets.
Best buy close to me has one. I would be willing to pick it up and ship if for say...cost of shipping plus 30bucks to cover my gas. Its a hour drive round trip.
I got mine at radioshack with a ten dollar coupon. So far so good. Going to get a price match from my CC company cause Best Buy have it for $130. Also saw topup cards at Walmart for $24.50 with tax. Anyone found cheaper?

It was available when I purchased it, virgin mobile will not allow you to buy phones when they are out of stock. Thus I bought it when it was available but in reality it was out of stock in the warehouse and not updated on the website yet? Anyway they are refunding my advanced shipping fee, and I still get next day priority when they become available again. I should get it this week and im in no rush but thank you for offering your services. This allow me to complain and get a reduction price or something credited to my account for there mistake not mine.

It appears it was a website glitch then. But from your op is sounded like you bought it knowing it was out of stock. Therefore if not I retract my statement.
If the Best Buy here in my town would have had one I would have done it for the cost of shipping. But to drive to the other town at 3.50 a gallon it costs me like 30 bucks last week to drive up and pick up something just across the street from BB.
When I got my optimus virgin showed none in stock on the website. But The three Best buys near me all had 10 plus.

They did sell them I was able to get one few weeks back, but at walmart said due to people Bricking or Rooting them at lot has gone back to Virgin and not offering NO REFUNDS!!!--Buyer and Rooters Beware ---so be bunch of Refurb soon, or even ebay lots, so really I wouldn't root or unlock thee Optimus V maybe get enough emails to Virgin mobile to make a choice of a Rooted Rom or Non Root. Seems to me a waste to do and all its doing is making it hard for the next person to find one since VM doesnt have any or anybody else but theres a lot in the Refurb dept at VM and bet most are going on e-bay due to all the tempering.

But soon or later be a better thing since now Microsoft delclared War On Google's Android, so be ready for some new MS JUNK soon

Todd..it doesnt matter where you bought the phone, part of the condition for carrying the products is to offer a exchange for 30 days. SO walmart and target are not going to say no refunds or exchanges. Especially walmart.
Dont hold your breath on getting VM to offer a rooted rom, no and I mean NO phone company offers a pre-rooted rom for their phones. Rooting the phone voids the warranty. Developer phones come as is and carry no warranty. The meid is flagged as a developer phone and can not be returned under the normal return policy.
You do have one thing right the hype over rooting this phone has it sold out everywhere. That hype has already been felt amongst the community. Seeing multiple threads like this one pop up and instead of actually asking for help the posters end up taking the phones back. Claiming a false reason and or playing dumb and just saying "it dont work no more new one pl0x".
Locked bootloaders are going to be more common in the upcoming weeks/months. And people want to blame the manufacturers, when its the phone companies that are to "blame". I cant blame them tho I blame all the one click root and adb command programs. Making it easy for any joe schmoo to attempt to root and flash a rom is not as good as it is bad. So many people dont read the directions fully before jumping in.

BestBuy marked up the price to $200 and else where it's above that. Seems like the prices are going up!
It's still 150 + tax at Target near me in Chicago and there were 3 on the shelf yesterday.
