Brand new S10e and trying to get things set up. I am trying to set up notifications for texts and email etc... using the sounds that I made and have used on other Galaxy phones. The sounds are all short MP3 files. I go through the process to add the sound but it tells me that an MP3 is "wrong file type. please try again." I've tried with different apps and get the same result. That leads me to think that its not the app but something in the system??

Help please....

Before I give you my opinion, have you chosen a notification that works, and looked at the file to determine the file type? (It could be .aac, knowing Samsung.)

If not, have you put the files you made into a folder named Notifications? Samsung is usually pretty strict about that (even to the upper-case 'N'). Alarms in Alarms, Ring tones in Ringtones. But unless they've gone completely to .aac files (they started allowing them before I gave up on Samsung), an .mp3 file should work - mine worked for years. (I've never used the stock tones on any phone.)

Thanks for the help. I did check the mp3 files and they were fine. I did however move the mp3 files from the phone to a PC. I converted them to wav files and put them in their own folder on the phone and so far it seems to work.
