The country code is +359, I just gave +123 as an example, as I don't want to give away the number I dialed. Yes, it is transporting a random group of the first digits I enter to the end of the string. That's an odd bug. Is "+1231" the full country code, or is it transposing a random group of the first digits you enter to the end of the string?
No, I realize that -- I was just trying to clarify if it's just the country code that's getting transposed, or just a random group of digits, but you ended up clarifying that. The country code is +359, I just gave +123 as an example, as I don't want to give away the number I dialed. Yes, it happens all the time, when using the phone app's dial pad. It doesn't happen when I add a new contact. No, I realize that -- I was just trying to clarify if it's just the country code that's getting transposed, or just a random group of digits, but you ended up clarifying that.
Does this happen all the time, or only sometimes? Is it only when entering a number using the Phone app's dialpad?
The problem was resolved. ThanksTry clearing the Phone app's cache and data. Go to Settings>Apps, select Phone, and clear the cache/data there. Then Force Stop it, and then open it again. Does the problem persist?
It did, but shortly after, the problem reapearred. I have no idea how to fix this. Maybe I should return the phone?Did my suggestion help, or did it otherwise resolve on its own?
I tried entering safe mode by holding the volume down key, but it's not working.Hmm, test it in Safe Mode, in case some app you installed (either on purpose or inadvertently) is interfering: https://www.mi.com/global/support/faq/details/KA-07889/#:~:text=Q: How to turn on,corner of the phone screen.
I tried, I have no option for safe mode in that menu. Should I try a factory reset?Ok, try this method instead:
You could always try a factory reset, but the point of Safe Mode is to temporarily disable any 3rd party app you installed that might be interfering. Apps can get automatically reinstalled after a factory reset and signing back into your account, so you'd have to make sure nothing gets reinstalled.I tried, I have no option for safe mode in that menu. I opened the same menu as in the screenshots, but the option for safe mode is missing. I bought it locally from Amazon Germany. On my 2020 Xiaomi Poco with MIUI 14 I hold the Volume Up button for a few seconds, then press the Power button as well for a couple of seconds, release the Power button but keep the Volume Up pressed for a bit longer. This is a photo from another phone's camera.
I have the Google Phone dialer app and I cannot replicate the issue. I don't remember if my Poco had a Xiaomi phone app. Check the App Info.
Did you buy this locally, with the correct rom for your region, or was it imported ?
I performed a system update, and the issue was resolved, for now. Also, another dumb question, but how are you entering the plus symbol.
The changed number looks like an extension.
