Xiaomi Redmi 5 uninstall of chrome updates. Cannot now log in, add data

Hi, I tried to uninstall but could only get rid of updates. But here's where the problem started. Now if I go to a browser or any app that requires me to put in data all I get coming up when I click to add cursor in the b0x is "Tap to speak" This has 'Google' at the bottom. There is a cross in the right hand corner, presumably so you can dismiss this pop up but nothing happens. Consequently I am unable to log in, log out or use a browser. Any suggestions. Ta in advance.?

Look for a tiny 'keyboard' in the Google box (maybe bottom left). Tap that and you'll get the keyboard.

Open playstore, voice search for SwiftKey keyboard and install. See if it comes up or offers it as a selection at the text box.

Excellent, methodman89, that worked thank you. In fact I couldn't do it from my device, it gave the message that voice was not permitted on Google play so I had to do it from my computer. But now it's fine. I've upgraded you from 89 to 90. Thanks again.
