I been a loyal sprint costumer since 1999. Now I'm very upset their are going to have the Xoom. I know sprint is going to offer an unlimited data package for lower price. Also wimax 4g is almost all over NYC with no issues.

WiMiax & LTE are two entirely different technologies so they aren't compatible.

But his point is that he could have 4G speeds on the network he loves....

OP - maybe you sell it and then buy the Sprint one?

I'm almost 100% positive that Sprint will get a Honeycomb tablet sooner or later. Whether it will be the HTC Flyer upgraded or a different offering, they are bound to get one.

ill be mad if Sprint has wimax on there xoom before VZW with lte that will be sad.

Word on the street is that Sprint is switching over to LTE. If I recall, LTE is similar to GSM, so there might be hope that you can use your LTE VZW Xoom on the Sprint network.

Oh, that would be funny....

It will be a long time before Sprint has a significant foot print with LTE. VZW has a 2 year head start.

I think it will be much less than two years. IIRC the difference between wimax and lte towers had a lot more to do with firmware than hardware. Sprint already has the largest 4G network. I suspect with minor tweaks they will be able to switch to lte very easily. The larger problem will be for subscribers who have wimax devices. My guess is that Sprint will give some awesome rebate if you have a wimax device and upgrade to a new phone with lte.

I am wondering how much Sprint will charge for their unlimited data when their Xoom comes out. I may be selling my Verizon one so I can buy a Sprint one with Unlimited Data. I haven't signed up for a data package with Verizon for fear of going over. Sprint would eliminate that worry! I am just wondering how much $ I am going to end up losing in this process haha
