Xoom or hp touchpad - now what?

Apps are a bigger deal on a tablet for me than a phone...

Really? I'd say the opposite is true for me. On a tablet you can just go to the website and get the information there. On a phone you want the information to be concise and right at your fingertips, hence CNN.com app, Engadget.com app...

A tablet is big enough to navigate around easily, I'd say there is less of a need for apps on a tablet.

TouchPad rumored to be $699! Give me a break, I would easily pay an extra $100 for the Xoom.

Exactly! The TouchPad is heavier, thicker, has a smaller screen with less resolution, has no back camera, no headphone jack, and lacks the ability to add memory.

Not to mention Android will be the number one mobile OS on the planet very soon, implying superior app support/offerings.

A meager $100 difference between the two makes XOOM the slam dunk winner of that contest, IMHO.
