Xoom Wish List

The clear data trick worked for most of my album art!!!

Gimme an iPad version of the SiriusXM app. Gimme the Google Voice app. Louder keyboard clicks. Gimme a way to set desktop view for all websites.
Gimme back the original Android notification/ringtone sounds. These new ones suck.

The screen - the screen suck! I played with the xoom at the store for I don't know how many total hours, but somehow I tried hard to convince myself that it'll be different when I actually own the device. Boy I was wrong. The screen still suck even at the highest settings. No contrast at all (washed-out). Even with the higher resolution, my 1st gen iPad still looks better.

Can't see my phone as an AP (something to do with ad-hoc not supported, etc.). I know there's a lot of so called "solution" out there, but heck all of my older device/gadgets didn't have this problem, and yes my iPad included works.

Which brings me to the GPS... I know on my other post I was so impressed on how fast this thing lock-on, but then I realized it's only good if I'm connected to a wifi - Which defeats the purpose if I'm out of the house (on the road), there's no wifi, and of course I can't freakin' tether to it. Yeah, the dang GPS won't work. Might work if I use a different app that store the maps on my tablet.

Oh well...

Bring up the address bar w/out scrolling.

I would like to see multiuser support, pandora fixed. Is there a way to dock the a dress bar to top of browser? I hate having to go to top to refresh or access tabs.

If you tap the webpage's tab the address bar comes up, no need to scroll back up to the top.

That's what happens when you buy a wifi only device: no GPS. The same goes for the iPad. The GPS is dependant on having a cellular radio in it for GPS functionality. Not to mention that the maps/data is mostly stored in the cloud (except for cached data).

My GPS works great while te there to my droid1 via bluetooth. Was able to utilize navigation, maps and GPS based browsing results just fine!

Is your xoom rooted? and what app are you using to tether? Interested in doing this with my rooted incredible on cm7.

I would like to see a standardized video format for HD video for Honeycomb so that people dont have to convert the video files to different formats so they actually look good on the xoom. What would be nice if the digital copies that come with bluerays actually worked on the xoom like they do on ipads and itouchs...

Thx invredible. Nice to learn that. Pushing menu on my x always got me to address bar.

My biggest gripe is the native Youtube widget doesn't seem to reload or refresh that much. And the auto dim is to drastic. I know it's coming but Google Voice! Oh and after trying out 4g, that and the SD card working would be a start.

I'm hopeful that the mass storage device settings are coming soon. I shouldn't have to install double twist and airplay to sync music. And it would be nice if the music app was more intuitive and less flashy. It looks nice, just not a joy to use. Oh, and a charging dock mode would be awesome. Still love my XOOM, just make it perfect.

Yep, my biggest issue.
I am wondering if this is a Motorola issue or a Google/Android 3.0 issue. My fear is that more devices will move to this MTP junk...

Needs a fix to log in to lotus notes webmail. Tech support says 'not supported' and no browsers I've tried can do it (yes I have flash). So I'm still lugging a laptop and my zoom is a toy. Loading as desktop mode doesn't help. All the aftermarket fixes require something being changed or loaded on the server side, and thats not going to happen for me as just one of the peons at MegaCorp. So so so bummed about this. My zoom is an $800 Angry Birds device.

Oh and my online banking app (usaa) that worked on my droid doesn't run on the xoom but that's on the bank to fix.

However Camscanner is so awesome that it convinced me not to return the device and hope more fixes come along to make the device useful for grown ups who need it to support mobile work.

The display seriously sucks compared to apple one. Needs more contrast and brightness. Other than that I love it. You guys keep mentioning software...which will come later. This is a new direction for Android

1. A right-angle power cord plug, it sticks out now and gets in the way... might even be able to charge it while in a portfolio display position

2. Headphone port should be moved to the corner (looks silly sticking straight up

3. Heck, lets just move the charger port to the side as well

4. Volume buttons need some tinkering, maybe a little wider

5. IR port? I don't get why products don't have IR ports for controlling home a/v systems

Everything else is software and thats fixable

I agree with the other members here who have mentioned the display on the Xoom. I'm still holding out that there are some software modifications to the display settings that could be made to improve it. I can wait on all the rest of these great ideas people have. The display though, for me, is a really big deal (at this price point).

The keyboard could use predictive typing, but there are upcoming alternatives like Swift Key that can't get here soon enough. The other wish item is Netflix, which I hear is coming soon to an Android near you.

Maybe my eyes are bad but my display(wifi only) is great. There is a setting to turn off auto dim.
I too hate the location of the headphone jack. I am going to pick up some Bluetooth headphones.

Has anyone heard of any timeframe for updates?

Need an app for rental/purchase of movies and TV shows. This should be something simple to use like iTunes (sorry for using bad words). I'm hoping this will come in the future in the Amazon Appstore.

I agree. I think the display is great, and I've seen it next to my wife's iPad. Something must be wrong for those complaining about screen quality.

I have no issues with my display. I may not have noticed yet.
my GPS works fine also. I'm not rooted.
