Xperia camera problem

Hi guys so my partner has a z1 and has recently come into a problem where every time she goes to open her camera it's in landscape mode. How can you set it so she can take portrait photos and doesn't have to tilt her head just to read the options

Try going to Settings>Apps>All​, select Camera, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Now try again.

Does anything else default to landscape orientation?

Try also wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data. I think this process should work for the Z1: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-11663
