Yahoo mail app: Notifications

I have a dinc and just installed the yahoo mail app. I love it because I have a verizon/yahoo email address and this app mirrors what's on my pc.
My only problem so far is that I only receive email notifications from the stock email app and that sort of defeats the purpose and I can't go directly to the yahoo mail app from my notification screen.
I've searched the forums and there are a couple of threads that somewhat discuss this but I have yet to find an answer.
Do I need to delete the account from my stock email app?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I've already gone thru the options within the yahoo app and set up notifications properly, but still nothing

I tried that before and it didn't seem to work. I just turned them off again and sent myself an email from my wifes account and I'm waiting to see if that works.
I'll get back with my result in a little while.

I'm having issues with Yahoo mail notifications too. Some days notifications come in with no problem, others, I can have 10 unread emails in my inbox and I will not have gotten anything.

I'm experiencing the same thing and can't find any help on the forums or through yahoo's site. Seems like the app is inconsistently running in the background or something.

I contacted support thru the app, but haven't heard back. The app absolutely receives my emails and relatively quickly, but I don't get any notification. It's a bummer because, as I said earlier, the app renders my emails beautifully and is extremely functional.
I'm still wondering whether it would help to delete my email acct from the native app, but haven't gotten around to trying that yet.

When you are done checking your mail in the Yahoo app, how are you leaving that app to go back to home screen? From the Yahoo app inbox just click the HOME button on your Inc, thus leaving the app running in the background.

I've tested this in the past and just tested this again and still no notification. I open up the Yahoo app and it starts it from scratch. Pressing home or the back button seems to kill the app and hence no notification when new mail arrives. I don't have any kind of auto task killer apps on my DINC

deleting email acct from native app did nothing and pressing home or back button doesn't make a difference.
I'm frustrated but will wait for customer service to get back to me, hopefully.

One last thought is to remove the app, do a battery pull then reinstall the app. i have that app and everything works as it should. maybe your installation is corrupt...

I've found the notifications from the yahoo mail app to be inconsistent as well - sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't. I sent a bug report to yahoo and hope this gets fixed in the next update.

I am getting some though; sounds like you're getting nothing at all.

I'm getting none and also hope they come out with an update soon
just received the auto responder email from yahoo, so I'm still waiting

Same here. Tried the Yahoo! Mail app and didn't get timely notifications. I just went back to reading my email via the HTC mail client instead even if it's not as functional.

Thing that bugged me the most about the Y! app though were the damn ads. I wouldn't mind them at the top or bottom, or just when you opened the app, but putting them right in-line with your messages rubbed me up the wrong way.
