You CAN delete ALL of the AT&T Bloatware

BTW the Atrix comes with a good task manager that includes an auto-end list (with the option to monitor cpu/ram usage...including for system apps) as well as a pretty good file manager.

Did you mean it's the "Force Stop" button on the "Manage Apps" part of the menu? Kind of new to this android OS.

No... There is an app in the app drawer called "Task Manager" (the icon looks like colored vertical bar charts). When you open it it has two tabs: one for ALL of your applications and one for the auto-end list. You can click the menu button to show/hide system apps as well.

In the applications tab, you see a list of ALL of your apps, which are running currently and how much CPU/RAM the ones that are running are using. From this tab you can click to end an app, or you can click to add it to your auto-end list.

The auto-end list tab shows a list of apps that you want to automatically turn off whenever the display times out. (otherwise games and stuff and syncing might continue to run and draw battery power even while the screen is off)

It's a very handy tool IMO. None of the phones I've seen have come with that stock before.

I agree. I changed one of my Launcher Pro icons to the Vingo Car option. It's actually absolutely amazing. First bloatware I've ever enjoyed.

You guys are SO LUCKY! I think this is the first time in history a carrier has given you the ability to remove the bloat.

Now if they'd just stop with all that no side loading nonsense :p

Uh DUH, I couldn't find the apps. Eventually I pressed the "ring" icon and gee was that a surprise!

But indoors in a windowsless room, my Atrix GPS is working well enough to claim 10' accuracy, when my Samsung Captivate couldn't be sure if the GPS system was online at all. Even OUTdoors with a good skyview.

Score one to Moto!

OTOH, the tinny little speaker just isn't suitable for music. Bad Moto! With all that Motoblur-social-warm-and-fuzzy stuff, they stuck in one tinny speaker?

Oh, Moto!

at this point i am going to have to disagree based on my experience with my 3GS. Sure its a tad tinny, but a least its got decent punch to it. The iPhone could be on full volume and in my pocket and i would miss calls due to not hearing it.

And to the previous poster: I dont think it wise to remove those. They are psrt of motoblur.

"Punch" among audio fans usually means an emphasized low bass response. Sorry, this phone may be reasonably loud, may have good audio (Motorola DOES have a *load of communications radio experience!) but one thing it does not have is "punch".

The speakers may be loud but they still are TINNY. Which has got nothing to do with volume, just means there is no bass and very little midrange, there's a very limited audio response.

How can I remove these:
  1. News and Weather
  2. Social networking
  3. Media sync

You'll need to root it. Thats what I did and I uninstalled using Titananium Backup. You can remove a lot of the motorola widgets too because I feel they are a little redundant to the android widgets.

Yes guys this phone is all power.

BUT how I can remove the AT&T restrictions on tethering (or BTW any other AT&T restriction)?

I have removed no At&T stuff yet.

Have anyone who already did it so, to test if the "account not set for tethering USB ? call 611" restriction when creating a hotspot is still displayed?
