You can now disable the Bixby button

I hope the change removes whatever Samsung did earlier to block developers from remapping, without using workarounds they had to use.

Awesome! Is that using the BXActions app, or some other app?

as mentioned, I use Bixby button remapper, but I'm sure there are others. this one got a good rec so I tried it.

Really easy to not have bixpy pop up on its own. By default it is set to listening and you have a sensitivity option as well as on off. I have mine set to off for listening and I activate by button only which for me seams to be about impossible to trigger accidentally.

activating by button is what folks want turned off. it is very intrusive if you don't want Bixby.

I like Bixby. If you persevere and learn what it can do there are occasions where it can be really helpful. That said, I'm not convinced it needed a dedicated button. It's not going away either. Friend of mine is high up in Samsung and he tells me they're ploughing millions into further development of Bixby.

I wish them luck. the disable feature was needed, no doubt. perhaps they'll back off a bit now with shoving it in our faces. it's the number one reason I want root. not everyone is in love with it. there's a verge story about it.

Yea I had set it up to try it, and really didnt like it. There was an update a minute ago and now this setting is available to turn off the bixby button... It still activates voice on longpress tho BTW

Good because I really like Bixby and the button.
