I like NewsRob, tv.com, Movies, Pandora, iheartradio, Steamy Window, Coloroid, Backgrounds, Quick Settings, Timeriffic, Google Sky, TerraTime, Space Weather, Layar, nru, and Gigbox!
Dolphin Browser - best web browser for the Android so far (based on Safari) and is the only one I have found that can handle Google Wave.
Aldiko - really nice eReader using the ePub format with loads of books to choose from. The only thing I would change is to have the ability to add books to it that you have downloaded from elsewhere.
BBC News - Quickly get to all the BBC News stories from their web site. The only thing you have to set up is which web browser you want the stories to open up in.
Free Dictionary Org - being a writer having a dictionary handy is useful.
eBuddy - yeah I have Gtalk but I also have msn, fb chat, yahoo im, etc. Having it all in ONE app is grand...
1. Handcent SMS!!!
2. Touchdown
3. Documents to Go
4. USA Today (prefer over Handmark Express)
5. Flight Status
6. ES File Explorer (prefer over Astro)
Thanks, Val, for the info on kids' apps. I have a 7yo girl and a 4yo boy and they love the Monkey KickOff. Their other favorites are:
Magic Marker
Splat: Bugs
FingerPaint
Pinball
to a lesser extent Air Hockey Demo
and, believe it or not, Coin Flip!
Both Magic Marker and FingerPaint are nice because you can select colors and save images - far more customizable than Kid's Paint.
Pageonce Personal Assistant #1 in personal finance & bill reminders
Don't forget to check out Pageonce's Personal Assistant Free app in the Android store...the paid app is currently #1 in the personal finance section! The free app is the same, just has a banner ad...
I love the app, but, of course I'm biased ;-)
This is probably on here somewhere else but figured it would be cool to see what everyone is downloading from the market. Here are some of my favorites:
A World of Photo
aniAgenda
Launcher +
Beautiful Widgets
Dolphin Browser
dxTop
Swype Keyboard
Handcent
Shazam
SportsTap
These are just a few of mine to get things started.
2. Mybackup Pro ($4.99)- Back your stuff up! Wavesecure might be a little better because 1) it's free and c) you can lock your phone remotely (from a computer)
3. Weather Widget-Donate- Love it!
4. Handcent SMS- Way better than plan ole stock app.
5. Timerrific- Genius! Keeps my phone from ringing during work hours. and goes into airplane mode while I sleep (battery saving mode)
Other helpful/fun apps IMO are:
Picsay Pro(for pics),Zedge(wallpapers/ringtones),Barcode scanner,Aloqa(Find places around you),Tunewiki (music player).. man I could go on forever.
I just got my Moment on Friday adn I downloaded these apps already:
1. Swift (played around w/ Twidroid and Seesmic, but I like this the best)
2. Facebook
3. Google Talk
4. Google Voice
5. SportsTap
6. Soccer Live
7. Blackjack Pro
