Your way to Update...

Aaawwww, I guess if they didn't wanna be scared they should just wait for the update. Don't tell me what to do or say.

Actually, Skunkape, who has basically bailed out every GS3 user/noob/enthusiast/expert on this forum at one time or another, ASKED YOU NICELY to not scare people on this thread. He didn't tell you what to do. You told HIM what to do. Take your own advice.

Thanks, please report back to us at iBOLT.co if anything is not working correctly as you are using Jellybean with our dock. Send information directly to info@ibolt.co about any issue... In Europe it didn't work so Kudos to Samsung if they listened to us and fixed this!

Worked like a charm. Didn't have to do anything to my sd card. Everything works and the phone sure is faster!.

Skunk,

Last question: From post #4 , which version do I use odexed or deodexed?

That is entirely up to you. Many feel than the odexed is smoother. Deodex is what most developers support as it is easier to mod and theme. The true samsung stock rom is odexed.

Hey Skunkape please check out my POST. I am 100% stock.

If your phone is 100% stock as you say, then the method in post #2 should work without losing any data or change any settings. However with this method you must have an external sdcard that is formatted to fat32. It is the same update that is coming via the Sprint ota. So what everyone is telling you is correct.

This is going to sound lame I'm sure but how do I transfer the file from my phone to my sd card...I clicked the link and downloaded it but it went to my phone, I see the file but can't figure out how to get it onto my sd card, I figured it would be like transferring an app to the card but I can't figure that out, thanks

I'm getting a red outline on my pages... See pic... It appears I got a bad copy and need to uninstall and reinstall... Don't know how to uninstall... I'm completely stock straight from the store... How do I uninstall?

Using my files. Navigate to the file you want moved. Press and hold on the file and choose move from the resulting menu. Navigate to to where you want to place it and choose move here in the top right corner.

There is no way to remove the update from an unrooted device. There is also no way to remove it from a rooted device either.

The only way is to fix what you have Is to try a factory reset. Or use one the methods in post #3.

Before doing this you can get one of the apps in the play store to attempt to back up what you can.

Don't get so defensive, pumpkin - it's not attractive. Just don't post something that you aren't completely sure about, no big deal.

"Don't tell me what to do or say" sounds like a 13 year old. :-\

Since I am guessing most of you guys wanting to manually update have now done so. I am hitting the road with my daughter for today. I will check in occasionally but for the most part be chillin. Most of the issues that can come up have already been discussed on this thread. So for now, if anything comes up search here first.

If anyone is still having problems getting things together on their UNROOTED phones, go to this thread for a video of just how to do it, including how to move the file to your SD card.

I believe there's also a reference for rooted phones mentioned.
