Has anyone else noticed that when you click links in messenger or TikTok you get the message "you are leaving our app" now? Is there a setting or something I need to mess with to switch it back?

It's like they are trying to force us to stay in their app and use their web browser instead of going to the actual app.

Messages like that aren't that unusual -- it's just to let the user know that a link is being opened in another app. Do you prefer to open it within the app (using the basic Android System Webview browser), or do you prefer to open it in a full browser (or some other app)?

If I select it to open in the actual app, I want it to open in that app immediately. This is something that has just started happening. I could be on messenger and click a TikTok link. It would open in their browser. Then I would click open in TikTok and it would immediately open. It doesn't do that anymore. Just this isn't week it started making me go through this and then try to send me to the play store to download the app. Instagram and Twitter does it too.

I uploaded a video showing what it does now when I click a link shared to me from another app.

I'm on the Fold 5 now but it's doing the exact same thing. I assume that this is something they are doing to force you to watch it on their app

I don't get why it takes me to the app store instead of the app.

Hmm, and you have all of these apps (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) installed from the Play Store or Galaxy Store? Are any of them sideloaded instead (e.g., a modded version of the app)?

Does this only happen with links in messages in a particular messaging app? Are you using the Samsung Messages app, Google Messages, or something else?
