$10 per month for 24 months on device payment plan. No trade in required. Note that the only way to get the price is with a 24 month agreement.

I didn’t catch that, but that requirement is becoming pretty standard these days for discount and bogo deals.

That always irks me. It's like - screw you long time loyal customers. I asked a Verizon rep about it once and she said everybody does it that way.

That how Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are operating these days.

I hope there's a better deal around Black Friday. That $10/month without 24 bill credits on a new line would make me buy one of these.

I agree. I'm not fond of the add a line deals either. In this case it worked in my favor as I wanted to add a line and get a decent Android phone in the mix. I've always had lower end Android phones along the way and was always disappointed in their battery life and such. This Z3 really is impressive, especially at the $240 price point I got it at. At full retail it is still a great phone that compares well with last years flagships from others.

Makes sense to me. They have you already. Want a better deal, new line/new customer.

Actually encourages servicer switching since all the carriers are doing this now. MVNOs are an issue too for those with just phones and sometimes tablets. I've given consideration to switching to take advantage of the new customer deals and these type of deals encourages that.

Yes - but people are less likely to switch out. And not all carriers are created equal.
