z4root 1.3.0 issues with froyo EB13

Ive been using z4root 1.3.0.apk with epic 4g stock eclair 2.1 with no problems (I use z4root to temporarily root my phone to have access to wifi tether). However, I updated my phone to stock Froyo EB13 (clean install) and now I'm having issues getting z4root to work: it loads, and says acquiring root shell but then the app closes out. If i try to reopen it, it will force-close/crash and the phone starts vibrating intermittently.


Is z4root not compatible with 2.2 froyo or am I just not doing something right? Is anyone using z4root with EB13 2.2 with no issues?

I'm having the same issue. I just wiped my phone clean to re-try running z4root. Will let know if it works or not.

UPDATE:

Tried again after wiping phone clean and still have the same issues. Have no idea what is going on.

Ya, Ive wiped and re-installed EB13 twice as well, no luck.. I think z4root just doesnt work with 2.2/EB13?..

You are correct, eclair 2.1 works with z4root 1.3.0 - it does not work with froyo EB13, I had to use one-click-root - been there done that :-(

Its really a bummer, I really liked z4root :-(
