I'm a noob, so bare with me.
Today I tried the new one click z4root. I downloaded busybox to see if it worked. It said it did not. So I uninstalled busybox and z4. But now I have superuser on my phone that I cannot uninstall and I just read on another forum that if you have superuser, your phone is indeed rooted.
What is going on? Is my phone rooted or not?

When I run terminal and type su it says access denied. I assume my phone is not rooted then.
Is it possible to get SuperUser off?

I used this app last night as well and it worked as advertised, however from what Im reading on it, Im a little confused as well. Some users are saying its NOT permanently rooted and others are saying it is since the superuser icon is still there after a reboot. Also, some are saying it is only a "shell root"....or something to that effect. Some are also saying that it supports "unroot" too, but, Im not seeing it.

**EDIT** The dev has updated the app on the market and UNROOT is now seen on the app screen.

Z4ROOT ran successfully and tells me I have root, but when running Astro and attempting to rename a file, Astro tells me 'insufficient access'.

How can I confirm I have root? Or am I doing something wrong in Astro?

I found downloading Titanium Backup & running it will confirm yes/no on root.
