Hello phone experts,
Please give me your opinion. I'm about to buy a ZTE phone.
ZTE is having a one day flash sale on the Axon 30 & 30 Ultra phones.

**FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST OTHER PHONES OF SIMILAR COST** does not have to be ZTE.

  • Axon 30 - --------12gb+ 256gb ---$549.00
  • Axon 30 Ultra - --12gb+ 256gb----$700.00

My previous devices have been ZTE Axon phones. (Axon 7, Axon 10, Axon M foldable)
I'm only stuck on ZTE because it's what I'm used to. I'm open to all suggestions.

  • I live in the United States if that matters.
  • I do NOT care about the camera, as long as it works.
  • I play simple games and occasionally watch You Tube.
  • I DO care about battery life.
  • It needs a SIM slot.
I'm about to purchase a new Axon 30 or Axon 30 Ultra - unless someone can suggest a better choice.
Leaning towards the Axon 30 -unless the Ultra is a better choice.
Thank you for any advice you guys can offer.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean that you want an SD card slot? All phones have a SIM slot.

I was going to suggest the Realme GT 5G, but that doesn't have an SD card slot:

I would also suggest the OnePlus 8 series, which may be a year behind, but it's still a formidable group of phones (and OnePlus is pretty good about updates).

Thank You very much. I will definitely look at both suggestions.
OnePlus is a definite consideration. I don't have an issue with it being a year behind,
but will it run the current Android version?
REALME GT also looks interesting. Will look at both today.
Thanks again

"All phones have a SIM slot."
Maybe I'm unclear about GSM vs CDMA.
GSM=SIM?
CDMA=no SIM?

SD card slot isn't mandatory as long as the phone has enough storage without it.
Since I'm not snapping selfies everywhere I go, probably not an issue.

Interestingly, the ZTE Axon 30 has an SD slot, however the Axon 30 Ultra does not.

Android 12 is still in beta for the OnePlus 8 line, but they do intend to release it as a stable version at some point.
