ZTE Axon 7 Preorders Have Begun

Just pre-ordered the Quartz Grey from newegg. Hope I still qualify for headphones. Fingers crossed that the reviews here and on other Android sites pan out as expected. If not I have a couple weeks after release of gold version and could always cancel order.

Sigh, is it worth giving up on fast updates and a slightly bigger battery in my 6P for the Axon 7? I really love those speakers, plus the Axon 7 has an option for capacitive buttons, which I prefer to on screen ones. I feel like I'm being greedy, lol. :/

The audio quality on the Axon 7 should be much better than the Nexus 6P, as should the speaker volume. Front facing speakers is one thing, but to really juice things up you need a better audio processor and amplifier than what comes standard in a Snapdragon.

Has it been confirmed that "non Chinese" versions will have capacitive buttons? I've read various things regarding whether they're gonna be Chinese only or 128gb 6gb RAM version only etc. Here's hoping they're available on the 64gb 4gb RAM UK version. Does anyone know? I just saw a video on YouTube of the Chinese one with capacitive buttons and it makes such a difference to the screen not having the on screen buttons taking up space at the bottom giving the phone a massive "chin". It looks normal with the capacitive buttons

I had the 6P and the speakers were loud. I ordered the Axon 7 and I expect better base and overall sound. I sold the 6P because it was too slippery and the power button protrudes too far so it was always on a different screen when I took it out of my pocket. I hope that the Axon 7 isn't so slippery.

I have the Nexus 6p and I just pre-ordered the Axon 7 from Newegg and got free Monster headphones. That is a great deal.

On to my question.
Does anyone know if ZTE is good with updating phones? I had the Nexus 6 and as pervious stated I have the Nexus 6p. I know the updates will not be as fast as a Nexus but, I just want to know if they push them out in a decent time frame.

I pre ordered the gray Axon 7 from Newegg and will get the Monster head phones too. The Axion 7 is the phone I was hoping HTC would release this year but didn't. Plus it is $300 cheaper than the HTC 10. Sorry HTC. I have been a customer all the way back to the Hero but you let me down with the 10.

My sentiments exactly. I even bought the HTC 10 only to return it when I found out that the speakers weren't nearly as good as the M7 or M8. Ordered the Axon 7.

They added them because their beta community essentially started screaming for them to be added, to avoid AMOLED burn-in from the on-screen ones. Personally I prefer the on-screen ones myself, but I think they're leaving those in the ROM and just letting people switch between the two.

I think they already have them. They're probably just embargoed until closer to the ship date.

Yeah hopefully you are right!! All the reviews and unboxings that are out there now I believe have been China units.

You're right. Android Central and Android Authority both mentioned receiving the Axon 7 late last week.
