This news makes me so happy. I heard about the desire getting rooted but I wasn't sure if this would help the incredible at all.

Bad assumptions. They assumed that since the Desire had been (or was about to be) rooted, that the Incredible could be rooted the same way.

Wrong!

The method used on the Desire won't work on the Incredible and the person who rooted the Desire is not working on the Incredible since the phone wont work in their country... no incentive to try.

Man, all I want is the friggin HTC news widget. Seems a bit overkill to root just for a widget, but theres not an app in the market that displays the news on my homescreen in a scrollable fashion like the htc news app.
