Open your camcorder and touch the left of screen where a menu pops up then press the bottom icon for settings and check or uncheck "Record with audio".

I'm having the same problem, but I don't see the menu for settings on the camcorder.

I'm running froyo 2.2.1

all i see is soft buttons on the camcorder screen to adjust video quality, flash, etc.

??

Which phone and android OS is that? That looks like it has way more options then my nexus one running android 2.2.1. I press menu button on camcorder screen and only get two options: gallery, and switch to camera.

Is the phone on vibrate? Sometimes having the phone on vibrate or silent will prevent the phone from recording sound. If this is the case then put the phone on normal and give that a try. If that is not the problem then I don't know what else it could be.

Some of mine will play audio on the phone but not on ANY computer I dump it too... what codec is being used for sound encoding? I have all my pictures\vids saving on the internal memory, so sd card speed shouldnt be a factor for me.

I think the problem is most likely an operator malfunction.
I got caught on this myself.
I went thru the whole press the speaker / erase the cache partition / factory reset
bit and none of it worked.

Android is a new thing and the applications I have seen are not polished yet.
(Example: having to use the Gallery to select a contact photo.)

This assumes the Galaxy S8 but should be similar on other Android cellphones.
I am going to type this as if you want to play back a video you shot (with sound).

Tap 'Gallery' then 'Camera'.
You will see thumbnails of the videos you have taken.

Tap a video thumbnail.
The video will appear to be playing in a loop without audio.
There will be a 'play' icon in the middle of the video.
Tap the 'Play' icon in the middle of the screen before it disappears.
The video will start playing with audio.

Note:
Make sure you do not have your sound turned all the way off.

Hi, I recorded a video this morning and it had sound, haven't changed anything on my phone and the video I recorded tonight has no sound. I go back to my gallery and previous videos still have sound but nothing I've recorded tonight. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you
