For those needing to vent about Fascinate issues!!

Sorry, I just felt the need to vent about the treatment I am receiving from Verizon. I finally reached the end of my rope today, when my bluetooth wouldn't turn on. I was once again trying to mount my fascinate to update to Froyo. I was told that using bluetooth would be way a to transfer files to the phone. And my Mac actually recognized the phone. So once again called verizon support with my issues of the mac, gps,bluetooth, & of course no update. I just climbed the levels of support. Every technician kept telling me they would only replace my phone with the same thing. And each time I explained that the trouble was with the software, not the phone. One tech even tried convincing me that her phone was just updated. Yeah, right. I am now waiting for another supervisor to call me within 48 hours. Their outright lying about no knowledge of these problems, even though I told them that these problems are documented all over the internet is so infuriating. Come on, they know these problems are real. don't they care about supporting their customers.(Sure lol). This time I am not letting up. I vow to hound them until they allow me to change phones.
And please don't attack me for complaining. I am not posting this looking for help.

i understand your frustration, and share it. however we already have several threads that address this topic. both the frustration with not getting froyo, the fact that its called froyo(isnt the dumbest name ever) and the connection issues for macs.

i dont want you to be afraid to post a new thread, thinking you are gonna get yelled at for posting a stupid question, if you have problems you need help with. we are all here to help each other out, i just want you to understand that its frustraighting to us regulars to see thread after thread of the same thing. :D

Don't be afraid to ask these guys for help. They're a great bunch. This kinda stuff is not unique. I saw it all the time one blackberry forums.

My experiences with Verizon tech and customer support have been much the same. I had a disputed charge on my account, and I spoke to no fewer than 4 seperate people, all of who assured me the charge was incorrect and would be refunded, none of which happened. The 5th person told me that none of the previous 4 had the authority to refund the charge and that it would stand, but offered to refund a month's worth of service (which was about 4 times the charge I was disputing). I agreed, but not surprisingly, after waiting for my next bill, that refund was never issued either. Finally, the 6th or 7th person managed to actually refund the initial charge.

While I do like the form factor, design and overall hardware of the Fascinate, it's a bit of a perfect storm of dissatisfaction - Samsung software blows, they're slow to update, Verizon compounds the problem by insisting on adding their own lousy software and their customer support down right sucks.

The only saving grace is that we have people like JT, Adrenalyn, Kaos et.al. Without them, the phone would be a total failure.

I had a customer who got an iPhone, but rather than use his upgrade they put his galaxy tab under contract and didn't bother telling him. The verizon store where I live is so f'ing shifty

Thanks for all of your supportive comments. I truly appreciate it & I do agree that the people on this forum are quick to help & it is much appreciated. That is why I felt comfortable enough to start this thread. A lot of you have tried many times to help me. But the sad fact is posted in the above post. The phone basically IS a terrific piece of hardware. It's been reliable and sturdy. The software is the problem. And unfortunately some of it just can't be overcome. It's too bad that Samsung & verizon have allowed the issues with phone to sour so many of us on their product. It was their choice of how to handle our complaints, & they have obviously taken the low road. I hope that this situation comes to back to bite them in the a--! Karma can be a you know what. Thanks again for your kind posts.

Yes the folks here are great. This noobie didn't know anything about android just a short time ago. And now thanks to them I'm rockin,rollin,rootin,romin, and enjoying my Fascinate more than ever!

Poodle. This is the best phone I've ever had. Despite the Verizons/ Sammy's lack of support there are solutions. You need to be willing to try. Your trying to get a new phone from Verizon, why not try to make it better? What do you have too lose?

Rockon SC 2.9.1!!!!!

Hahaha. Now that verizon has decent phones I'm in heaven. I have had out of country phones for years that I just took care of myself. Now I can use a decent carrier too!

Wow, I've been with Verizon for God knows how long and hearing these horror stories makes me feel lucky I guess. I actually just noticed on my last bill that I was being overcharged for Web/Email on my wife's line. She has a Palm Pre Plus and she should be on the $29.99 plan but we went through a lost phone/re-activation deal back in November, but it somehow screwed up our billing. Anyways, I just got into the habit of not looking at my bill but decided to just look at my bills for the last 6 months and saw the overcharges. I called Verizon and talked to customer service and, no questions asked, got all my overcharges credited to my current bill (which made my bill like super duper cheap for the month). Just recently, my Sammy Fascinate's GPS decided to crap the bed (I dropped it and it wouldn't lock on anymore after that if anyone is asking) and I called them up, told them my Sammy GPS wasn't locking in and they sent me another one overnight. I had to reset my Fascinate back to stock and sent it back just today. Verizon has always taken care of my wife and I, but everyone always have different experiences. Heck, the only reason that I am on Verizon in the first place was because I used to be a Sprint customer and I thought they treated me horribly. Go figure!!

So I called Samsung moble and the guy gave me the usual about not knowing anything about froyo but I did keep on pressuring him and he did admit that it was still coming at-lest I got that I guess.

I wrote Verizon/Samsung and bing about forcing bing on the fascinate. Listen to what bing/Microsoft sent me back.

IMHO, relative to the rest of the carriers, Verizon is pretty good about customer support.
The phone is what the phone is, I had a chance to return it. So I'm not losing sleep over the lack of an update.
But the long wait is pretty sad isn't it. They had better have all of the bugs worked out when (if) they ever get the update out.

I know the last time I talked to verizon about my wifes phone this makes number 4 for her they said we could pick from any phone other then the tb or iphone so I bet if u keep having problems they might.
