problem with links in email program

If I tap on a link in an email, for example a link to a forum , I get a message box that says 'phone number - 1: forums'.
From a link to drop box it says 'phone number - 1s://DL.drop'.
Then two buttons, 'Close' or 'Add to contacts'.
This makes no sense to me. Is it a bug?
OS is 4.1.1, Ematic tablet.
