I'm sure this has already been discussed, but couldn't find it...
Just grabbed the latest Gmail update (2.3.5) from the market. Something about it doesn't work with with Gmail Notifier, because now, when I get an email, in the notification bar, instead of giving me the subject and the sender, it just says "new email" and the email account.
I haven't investigated, but I may not need Notifier anymore. I got it back in the day because I didn't like the way the stock app handled notifications. Maybe things are better now. However, I do like the fact that I can select different notification icons for different gmail accounts.
