Grocery IQ = 8204 kb????

I was on AppBrain and saw Grocery IQ listed there. I was going to install it until I saw the apps size. 8+MB for a Grocery list app? What's the deal here?

Currently, I use OurGroceries and while it may not have as many features as Grocery IQ, it's only 301kb.

probably higher res graphics and whatnot. If it has a lot of icons/backgrounds and not the standard android ui elements, the size will increase quickly.

I thought so too, but it's even hard to find games that are larger than 8MB! Tattoo Mania (trial version) is under 8MB and it's full of high-res graphics, audio, etc.

I'm just really surprised to see a regular "app" at that size.

As I recall from the iphone app, it has a very large database, along with all of those icons & promotional stuff. I dumped it there, and haven't tried it on Android.
