Why is my location being accessed while location is disabled?

Recently on my Lg g4 (running 6.0), there has been the little pin icon for location constantly on my status bar. The strange thing is that location services are disabled (to save battery). The icon goes away if I turn location ON and then OFF, but it will then reappear a few minutes later. How can i figue out ehat is acessing my location and how to prevent it? (location services destroy my battery, I really do not want them)

Hi welcome to android central. Go to settings/ privacy and safety and click location. It will give you a recent history of apps that made location requests.
