So my brother currently has the Droid X. He's not due for an upgrade til the beginning of next year, but he will not be using his upgrade in order to stay with our unlimited data plan. He is planning on buying a Verizon 4g phone at retail price (still not sure from where), but we were just wondering what other additional steps might he have to make in order to transition from his current 3g phone to a new 4g phone? When I upgraded from a Droid 3 to my current Razr Maxx (purchased it through a call with Verizon), the Maxx came with its own 4g sim card. If my brother were to buy a 4g phone through a 3rd party retailer such as ebay, amazon, etc., what would he need to do to get a 4g sim card to use for his new phone? Is there the easy option of just walking in to a Verizon store and ask for a 4g sim card?
