Why aren't I receiving texts from iPhones?

not receiving texts from iphones

My son just got a samsung galaxy core prime. He is unable to receive texts from iphones. When someone with an iphone tries to text him, there phone recognizes his phone as an iphone...although it is not. Any suggestions??

Hi and welcome to Android Central.

It sounds like they are trying to send an imessage and not an actual sms. Are they sending to a phone number or a username?

They are sending it to a phone number. The iphone picks up the galaxy as an iphone for some reason

Have you tried from a phone that's not a iPhone?

Are they being sent as SMS texts, and not iMessage?
