Why can't I see or send pictures from my messages?

I have an Alcatel Onetouch (Android version 4.4.4) and for some reason I can't see pictures sent to me and I can't send pictures. I've had the phone since about September 2015, and then it worked fine. It stopped working in December. I'm not sure what the problem is, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

What carrier?
Any error messages?
Are your SMS and MMS settings correct?

I am using Straight Talk.
When I try to send one, it says something like "Cannot send", and when I get sent one it tells me to download it and it says "Could not download" (I can't remember what it says exactly), but nothing like "Error Code: *Insert Numbers*"
I don't see anything that looks abnormal in the settings, but I'm not quite sure. I see the Maximum message size is 1200kb under MMS, and the pictures have been outdated so it says the size is 0kb.
