Nexus 7 constant connect charger message

Help? I keep getting this message saying to connect the charger whenever my charger is in. Plus, when I'm on my nexus when charging, it does not even charge. Advice?

Haven't heard of this issue yet, so I guess I'd say do a factory restore, and an exchange if that doesn't fix it.

Did the charger every work out of the box? Were you able to complete a full charge when you first received the item? Sound like its possible the adapter might have issues. Try connecting the unit using the USB cable directly to a computer and see if you get the same thing. You can send me an email at cl-fred@asus.com if that doesn't work.
