I really wish the Pixel would have taken advantage of the chin to have navigation hardware buttons and the option to choose between on screen navigation keys and vice versa (like the One Plus phones). Maybe next time...

I keep mine at 10-35% or so with adaptive brightness. Depending on what I'm doing. I never go past 50%. It's too bright! Outdoors OK, maybe. But otherwise I keep it down.

Now that my phone has been on 50 percent brightness the past few weeks, I have gotten used to it and like it at that, probably should have been doing so for a long time and giving my eyes a break lol
