SMS Issue

I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus with no modifications. Recently I have been having some issues sending and receiving text messages. I will type out a message, hit send and then it just sits there with sending listed below, where the time stamp would normally hit. The messages are not being sent and I am not sure why they're not going. Any ideas?

Can you receive and/or reply to SMS messages?
