Gallery problems

when i try to pull up a picture from an mms in the gallery app, the menu never appears.
all i get are the zoom in, zoom out icons and nothing else. is there a fix to this i tried installing a different version of the gallery app in the system folder, but i keep getting installation not succesful error. help?

When you're looking at the picture from the MMS you're just previewing it. If you want to work with it (re-share, upload, etc.) you need to long-press the picture in the MMS and save it to your SD, then you can open it in the Gallery and work with it as normal. This is working as it should.

Once you get a mms message, long press the picture, then select save attachment. It will be saved in the download folder in your gallery. Pretty sure you have to save the picture to do anything besides just view it.
