When I hold down the volume button on back the camera app doesn't open up a note pad opens instead...
and I read that you can touch anyplace on phone and it will take a picture? well when I do a lazer light comes on and it looks like a pic was taken but I cannot find it anywhere. So do you have to hold down the camera icon to take a picture or can you tap anyplace on the screen?

Volume Down takes you to Camera. In Camera, touch the three-dot menu to switch between shooting modes.

ok I guess I wasn't holding it down long enough, so to take the picture you have to hold down on the camera icon? you can't just point and tap anywhere on the screen?

In one mode, you can tap the screen to shoot, in the other (get to it by tapping the 3 dots), tapping the screen focusses, and you tap the camera icon to shoot.

The Volume Up button opens the QuickMemo+ app.
