[ROM]CM10.1/PAC-rom jb 4.2.2 The JBC alpha build

Re: [ROM][WIP] CM10.1 jb 4.2.1 The JBC alpha build

Hi everyone, I am really interested in using this ROM for my phone. Does anyone know if it will be ok to apply this ROM to a LG optimus v running 2.2.2 with a hitachi screen?? I am aware that using a wrong ROM can brick the phone and I wish to avoid that. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated :)

Yeppers. Just flash the VM fix after flashing ROM. I run this on my Optimus V. If you choose to flash one of kraven's test kernels (i'm running test 43), flash the VM fix after flashing kernel.

great! so just to be clear: boot recovery --> backup --> flash ROM --> flash gapp's --> flash kernel (optional) --> flash VM patch. I do all of these before rebooting? Where can I find kraven's test kernels? Is test 43 good?

Here's kraven's latest build and kernels. Just don't forget to do wipes before flashing. Also, you'll need to flash a int2ext script which is a few posts back and i would also recommend CrossBreeder (optional), which is on xda forums.

Never posted before but have been following for a while. Love your ROMs Kraven!!!
I have a question on using obi's INT2EXT script on Kraven's SlimBean 4.1.2 build... how do you remove the "built-in" DC2SD in order to flash one of these???
I have tried the JBC and PAC Roms, love them but really missed the bluetooth!!!
Thank you!!!

On cai you should be able to just not select one of the built in sdext methods. Not sure on slim bean but if it's there by default on it you'll have to remove the script from the init.d folder

I haven't been able to find on option to turn it off on SlimBean. Is it as simple as just deleting the script (the 40a2sd)? I just want to make sure there isn't something else I'm missing! Thank's for your help!!!!

I haven't really taken a look at SlimBean myself, but that does script filename does look like a script that would move apps or data to sd. You can use something like "adb shell cat /system/etc/init.d/40a2sd" to see the code just to be sure. Also be on the lookout for any zipalign scripts in the init.d folder as well (I think I remember SlimRom having one there, not sure), since my int2ext script includes that. It wouldn't hurt have two zipalign scripts, but two data-to-ext scripts would be, uh, bad. Oh, and also remove any seeder init.d scripts if you're going to use CrossBreeders (which I recommend, btw).

Awesome, thanks!!!!

On a side note: Thank you to all the devs and tinkerers on here!!!! I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of your hard work!!!

You guys have me scared to update...

I wiped, flashed Pac jb (v20.1.0_04MAR2013-122448-LS670.zip), wiped caches,
Flashed gapps 4.2 stripped multi, wiped caches, flashed vmfix, rebooted, wiped caches, flashed int2sd+

I don't use Bluetooth, but everything works.

I flashed the latest build after wiping; after the long boot, it just said "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped.", and would always come back up with that if I pressed Ok. I've gone back to my nandroid of 7.2 for now.

How'd you flash it exactly, what order? Obi's INT scripts have to be flashed after a couple reboots. The new kernels have to be flashed before flashing the Virgin fix if you have a V instead of an S, and Dalvik should be wiped after flashing the new kernels.

Everything seems to work on my V without a new kernel... Whats the point of the kernels exactly?

Bluetooth?

The new ones he issued try to fix the problem that is plaguing the new builds, which appears to be a problem concerning the wifi and the phone's sleep policy. I had that problem myself, on wifi, the longer I stayed on it, the likely my phone would suffer from the sleep of death, which would not occur when the phone was on 3G. Kernel 43 seems to have fixed it and on top of that, the battery drain is not as noticeable across the board...in fact it is about where it was with Bob's CM10 (about 4-6% per hour)

I wiped everything, flashed the rom included in the first post, (specifically, this one.) and booted - no kernel tampering or keypad fixing since I'm on an S.

Edit: Oh, was I supposed to flash a CAI kernel upon installing?
