[ROM]CM10.1/PAC-rom jb 4.2.2 The JBC alpha build

So, I just installed build 4 of JBC and flashed bigsupersquid's new kernel. I used KonstaT gapps. Everything thing works great! Really peppy! However, I have run into one problem. I flashed obijohn's int2ext+ (after two full reboots as suggested) and got a bootloop. I waited a full 15 minutes to be sure, but it never progressed past the boot animation. I'm going to try the non + version next to see what happens, and I'll report back. But if anyone has any ideas as to why I'm getting a boot loop, please do tell.

After flashing the non + version of of obijohn's int2ext zip, I got another bootloop. Interestingly, when I checked partition info, it showed no ext partition. I was using my ext partition on PAC just yesterday. Gonna boot into recovery to see if it's visible there. If not, that's obviously my problem, but that would mean that my ext partition disappeared! I guess I could have accidentally deleted it in recovery, but we'll see.

I tried obi's scripts as well and got the bootloop with bss's kernel. The good news is that the "fixed" cronmod script worked fine. The link is in this thread somewhere.

Good to know! Links2sd works as well. I like the automatic route, so I'll probably reflash and use cronmod, so thanks for the tip! I wonder what the issue is that's causing the bootloop?

Wow kraven, you still chugging away on the optimus? Props man!! Thought you would have moved on ages ago. I guess I still mostly support my work too. Keep fighting the good fight. :D

obijohn's scripts contain a slightly different set of bind mounts and use rsync instead of mv to move files...

The problem could be in the mounting structure, but I would check if rsync is working
if not, you could try a static version if you have space on your system partition - rsync your Android [asksven] has a link to an old static binary, but it's worked for me so far... could try picking apart the rsync app for a newer binary too, maybe?

For the VM users, when flashing one of the new builds with bigsupersquid's new kernel, it has been my experience that the hardware keys are assigned correctly without flashing the VM fix. The carrier label still says Sprint, but the hardware buttons act correctly. Is the VM fix just for carrier label and hardware keys, or is there something else I'm missing out on by not flashing it?

I know right, I pop in here from time to time too, and he never ceases to amaze me with his tenacity.

Okay, so, HALO, say what you will, but you can finally clear the voicemail notification with it. Granted, it comes back pretty quick, but still, FINALLY!

I think it may or may not have a fix for MMS in it as well. Not sure.

Interesting, because when I do flash the VM fix, the hardware keys switch to Sprint style. Gonna have to look up how to switch them manually then.

did you try my OS keyswap after the VM fix?
it might fix it, if not I can provide a backwards one. I can put it in the kernel thread if it's needed.

You can just go to system/usr/keylayout and modify the thunder_keypad .kl file. Open it with a root enabled text editor (I use root browser lite). Everywhere it says home change it to menu, and vice versa. Save, reboot.

actually,
Code:
MENU WAKE_DROPPED
to
Code:
HOME WAKE
it can also be the thunderc_keypad.kl in older VM kernel versions, but since mine's kanged from the p500 it is thunder_keypad.kl

This is a little confusing to me. This is the way I'm reading it: Change anything that says "MENU WAKE_DROPPED" to "HOME WAKE". And vice-versa? Is that right, or am I missing it?

Thanks for doing another build, Kraven. Thanks for the kernel, BSS.

Bluetooth audio works with my headphones! Amazing! I have a Motorola ht820 headset, and the a2dp works great, including all the buttons. Calls are quiet and distorted, though.

Unfortunately, it does not work with my car stereo. I can actually hear the audio for a split second, then Bluetooth turns itself off and on again. I'm going to try to fool around with the audio patches, and maybe look for a firmware update for the stereo. It works fine with CAI, so I may just have to switch before long car rides.

Thanks again for your hard work!
