Downloading software not useable by the phone.

Hey all,

I just upgraded from an HTC Hero. With that phone, I had the ability to download any software. (whether it was for the phone or not) There was an option in settings to turn this feature on and off. I need to have that same ability with the LG Optimus S. When I download something now, it fails and says the software was not compatible with the phone. Am I screwed. Please HELP

Try ASTRO file manager?

Have you enabled 3rd party software sources?

Settings -> Applications -> Check Unknown Sources.

Edit - Also, the stock browser seems to hate downloading certain things for some reason. Try Dolphin Browser HD, works great.

It was the browser. Dolphin HD works perfectly.

I seen you had the hero before this. Have you tried the UOT Kitchen with this phone yet?

I posted a file I ran through the kitchen with the help of one of the makers of the kitchen but nobody would flash it lol I should get my Optimus tomorrow as long as UPS dont change delivery date again! grrrrrrrr I will flash and see what can be done about porting some of the Hero themes as well
