Daydream shuts off on wireless charger

So I was hoping to utilize the daydream feature as a nightstand clock. It comes on as it should when I lay my Maxx on the wireless charging pad but shuts off during the night. I'm assuming this happens when the phone reaches 100% and stops charging - the settings for daydream even say "While Charging" in the settings for when to daydream.

I've read elsewhere that this does not happen with a USB charger so that is obviously one solution for me but I thought I'd check to see if anyone else has experienced this and come up with a fix.

The wireless charger will stop charging at a certain point so there is no real way around this.

I use tasker to keep daydream on.
Profile: 12am-6am + Battery 90-100%
Action: Wake screen, launch daydream

It hasn't worked 100% of the time, but it's better than just shutting off when reaching 100%.
