Ringing glitch since Lollipop upgrade

Since upgrading to Lollipop, occasionally the Turbo will ring once and then go silent, although the call is still pending. You could easily miss a call this way, especially since that first ring now starts off at a lower volume level. What's going on here?

Check your notification settings . Also hit your volume button is it set to all ?

A new Google/Moto lollipop feature, where the ring is quiet and then builds in volume. Some like it and some don't.

Just to clarify: I understand volume settings, and the escalating volume on the first ring. I am not complaining about normal phone behavior.

The problem is that occasionally the phone does not continue ringing as it should until answered or voicemail.
