S Note Won't Show Notebook

My professor gives us the lecture notes as a PowerPoint, which I export as a PDF and download to S Note. I took notes on the PDF without any issues in my lecture, then saved the notes and put the tablet away. When I checked the notes 10 minutes later, S Note won't let me open the notebook containing those slides! The notebook looks dark from the main menu and whenever I try to open it I get a popup that says "error occurred." The only option I have is to click the OK button, which takes me back to the S Note main menu. Is there any way to get my notes back?!?
