They have a LOT to prove lol.

Yes, they do. But their hardware is certainly equivalent to some of the best current android devices. (Previous poster was trying to say that it wasn't)

@crackberrytrader Ha ha can't an blame you for your zealousness after years of no hope and only crushing new for BB. Now with the little hope that is BB10 your having a field day even if it's false hope.

I loved my BB back in the day, but Android is just so much better and the cord if what hardware to pick you can't beat.

Well I can't blame him cause he's actually being optimistic and waiting to see for sure if the new devices are good whereas most others are condemning them without even trying them out just cause of the past which I think it's that smart.

No, its comparable to the S3, not S2.

Display: Skyrocket--4.5" Z10--4.2" (Skyrocket)
Skyrocket--480x800 Z10--768x1280 (Z10)
Skyrocket--207ppi Z10--356ppi (Z10)
Colors are the same at 16 777 216
Skyrocket-1 Z10-2

Battery: Skyrocket--1850mAh Z10-1800mAh (Skyrocket)
Skyrocket-1

Hardware: Skyrocket--1.5GHz dual-core processor Z10 1.5GHz dual-core processor (same)
Skyrocket--1024MB RAM Z10--2048MB RAM (Z10)
Skyrocket--16GB on-board storage Z10--16GB on-board storage (same)
Skyrocket--32GB expandable memory Z10--64GB expandable memory (Z10)
Z10-2 Tie-2

Camera: Skyrocket--8MP/2MP Z10--8MP/2MP (same)
Camcorder: Skyrocket--1920x1080 (1080p HD) Z10--1920x1080 (1080p HD)

In conclusion: Blackberry is producing their BRAND NEW phone with some specs that tie with a phone that is over a year old. Their "redesigned" phone should be surpassing older ones in order to attract consumers they lost to Android and iOS months/years ago. Blackberry is simply still not on par with NEW phones.

Your comparison is flawed. The Z10's processor is a generation ahead. How about you do the same for the S3, because you'll see that the Z10 is evenly matched with samsungs flagship.

Z10 is much more comparable to the S3 like jhbthree said. And specs definitely aren't everything. My iPhone 4 is still smooth as butter and comparable in that aspect to my life nexus 4 which blows it out of the water spec wise.

I will take it a step further if I can with that comparison of the Z10 vs the Skyrocket:

Bigger display for the Skyrocket is a plus, making it better? I would take that off.

A ...slightly ....bigger battery gives the Skyrocket the edge? I would take that off.

As JHB said....its a newer processor in the Z10.

That said....every upcoming phone isnt gonna come out and leap frog other current or upcoming phones. Are all new phones now supposed to have quad core chips? I'm just trying to understand the reasons why some would say X phone is outdated or lesser than Y phone. And since the Z10 is using 2GB of ram...and I hear so many say it does make a difference....why would anyone try to say the Z10 is a lesser phone?

I would have to agree...the Z10 is more comparable to the GS3. The ram and the chip...in the US versions anyway....says that.

I love my Nexus 4 and I am tied in deep with Android(tablets). With that being said, I am always looking for the next big thing. If the new BB phones at least match or exceed the features on Android I would at least consider it. As much as I am against Apple and IOS, I would even consider IOS if it gets a major overhaul. A grid of icons does nothing for me. My hate towards Apple is starting to lessen due to Samsung starting to bring them back to reality. So now maybe, just maybe, they will get back to innovating. They only company that I am committed to is the one that I work for. I will jump ship for a mobile platform in a heartbeat .

"Get back" would imply they ever did any innovating. All they've done is copy other people and pretend they invented it. Sometimes they'll improve what they take by quite a bit but that's about it.

This is from me, on my EVO 3D.

Which is still not great in the land of blackberry. And if you read what I was responding to, doesn't bode well for that poster either.

Blackberries never had modern hardware that requires such power. Beating the bestselling Android smartphone in battery life, as well as having a removable battery sets it pretty well against the competition.

Every day I read Google news and for the last week I've seen a featured article every day about how Blackberry is having a spectacular launch and surprising the hell out of analysts.

This. It actually has better specs than the S3.

Sent from my One X using Android Central Forums

You must be talking about the screen. Thats the only thing I see as far as specs....vs the US and overseas GS3. Thats 1 better spec....not specs... Overseas has the quad core chip, 1GB ram. US version has dual core chip...and 2GB ram. Depending on which GS3 one compares it to...its a wash with processor or RAM.
