Just received my gorilla gadgets 5800mah extended battery. Will be posting up screen shots and what not so people can know what to expect. With the stock battery for my Verizon s5 I would usually get between 12-15 hours of on time with around 3.5-4.5 hours of screen on time. This is with Facebook, Snapchat, gmail, Instagram all syncing. Weather app update every 3 hours. I keep WiFi on at all times. I am connected only a few hours a day at home though. Bluetooth off, location set to high accuracy, auto screen brightness. Hopefully with this battery I can pull around 36hrs with maybe 7.5-8.5 hours of screen on time.

Here's some screen shots so far. Its been unplugged since Friday morning at about 8am or so. On 37 hours with 8 hours of screen on time. 5 hours of streaming Pandora on a fishing trip Friday. Same settings as I described above. Usage is usually Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, email, text, a few calls, browsing the web, and watching a few YouTube videos. This battery is more than doubling both my screen on time and my overall usage time from the stock battery.

Just had a quick look at these. $99 to ship to the UK.

Think I'll give it a miss.

Dang really? Mine was $24.99 off amazon. Here are the last screenshots before I charge. Giving me around 2.5-3 times the screen on time and overall usage time. Well worth the money to me. And one of the cheaper extended batteries on the market.

The only disadvantage of this is the you lose the waterproof feature and it makes the phone bulkier... Other than that I would have gotten it

Ya I figure when I go fishing, boating or something I'll throw the stock back and battery in for the waterproofing. This battery isn't to bad to me in the thickness department. I was really hoping for maybe a 4,000 mah battery or so. Only reason I like the extra thickness is the camera lens isn't protruding out of the back of the phone so it won't get scratched. And its a little easier to hold on to. Personally I think phones are getting a little to thin.

I loved the thickness, weight, and feel of my droid maxx. I'd sacrifice a few MM of thickness for a 3500-4000mah battery.

Well I think this battery is definitely worth the $30 it costs. I'm getting anywhere from 36-48 hours of total on time. And around 7-9 hours of screen on time.

Gorilla also has a cool deal for 30$
2 batteries 2800 mah and a wall charger for them which I think it awesome.
Do you guys know where to get some cases the size of a battery?

I also looked into the larger 5800 mah gorilla battery and that's a great deal as well. Really cool accessories for phones now a days. I want to get them all!

I have the Droid Maxx right now, but am due for an upgrade shortly. In terms of battery life, how do you compare the S5 with the extended battery to the Maxx?

As a separate question, how do you compare the phones in other areas?

I also had a Maxx, the S5 is much better as a phone overall, but battery life is far from what you would get compared to the Maxx. I could easily go a day or two without a change with the Maxx, with the S5, ya have to remember to plug it in or you'll run out of juice. I use a qi charger so it's no big deal to just drop it on and pick it up. My S5 is currently sitting at 51% after 15 hours off the charger which sounds really good but it wasn't heavy use. It does seem that my battery is getting better and better the more I've used it... had the phone for a couple months (I believe).

The s5 is better in almost every way to me especially the camera. With the extended battery I'd say battery life is a bit better. I could usually get about 36-48 hours out of the maxx. I could probably get 60+ hours out of the s5 with extended battery which isn't a big deal to me. I really just want the phone to last all day through 10.5 hours of work and still have enough juice to say if I want to go fishing/ride ATV or do something else it will last till I would get home at night.
