Problem w/making and receiving calls and texts since deleting and turning off some apps

Yesterday got a new Galaxy S5. I was receiving texts w/o issue. I did start to either turn off or delete certain apps that I don't use such as google movies & TV, other google apps that I don't use, smart remote, Lumen to name a few. And downloaded some apps that I do (ex. WPS office, yahoo mail, zedge, etc). Now I cannot make or receive calls or texts.
I'm guessing that I got rid of something that I do need. Any idea what do I need to re install or turn on?

Welcome to Android Central! If you're unrooted, then you can't delete anything that is crucial to the system. You could go to the App Manager, tap Menu, and Reset All App Preferences, which should re-enable all disabled apps. Then reboot the phone, and see if it works again.
