Can receive texts but can't send

Hello, I have recently switched from a Galaxy Note 3 (sm-n900v) to a Galaxy s6 edge plus(sm-g928v). They are both running verizon(in case you didn't know from the model numbers). My girlfriend has an IPhone 5c(running at&t). I told her to text my phone number and I got the text, but when I texted her back she got nothing. My Note 3 did the Same thing. I have a different area code than her. My mom has the same area code as her, and she has a galaxy s7 edge and I can text her fine.
