Problems with sending pictures with messages app

When I open the phone app and go to contacts to select a person and tap on the messages icon to send pictures, the pictures somehow end up getting send to a different number. I try sending pictures on the messages app, but the pictures are sent to a number different from the one that I selected. I am on t-mobile and this didn't happen to me before on my galaxy s5 when I had verizon. This is pretty frustrating.

Are there messaging apps on the play store that doesn't have this problem? Because this is very annoying.

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen with all contacts, or only with specific ones? What if you create a new message thread by entering that contact's phone number directly (instead of selecting from the Contacts app)?
