Google search seems buggy. If you say call and a location it doesn't search for the location. Instead searches your contacts for someone that sounds similar.

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
My data speed over wifi actually seems faster. I haven't tried CDMA yet, though. (And no LTE in my area yet.)

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
Overall the update is great. I noticed Google Now voice search has a bit of lag, especially compared to my Nexus 7 (presumably because of the processor).
Also I don't see where there is a separate volume for notifications like on the Nexus 7; I was under the impression that was part of JB. - 09-09-2012, 04:03 AM #55

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
My Google Now is sketchy. I have it set up to tell me everything,so i can see what it has to offer, but the only thing that shows up is weather. I have driven all over the DC area and it has never once including any info on traffic. Or sports. Or nearby places. I have gone through the settings numerous times. Anyone else's not working up to expectations? Any suggestions?

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
I found that just rebooting my phone and my wife's phone we are both getting notifications again. May need to update the Sprint PRL's too.
Rebooting also stopped the heat issue, something not quite right immediately after the initial boot to JB. Many other issues resolved that way.
WiFi speed is spot on for me, haven't tried mobile data yet but getting 3-4 bars which we always got here at home.
Kinda sad that the didn't include the "Auto-rotate toggle" on the Notification bar like they do with the Tablets. I find having that feature readily accessible was very handy for me.
Since I already had JB on my Nexus 7, my Google Now settings were already set up when I logged in to the GNex for the first time. I just had to agree to the terms again and everything was ready.
My wife also noticed that her screen lock settings were turned off, until she rebooted the phone.
We also both noticed some default icons were set to a little green android icon. We had to delete and re-store those apps to get the standard icons. The Camera app was one that we had to do this with. That may be a Nova Launcher issue, however.
All in all I am very pleased with JB on the GNex. Project Butter is a major improvement to the interface and what features did change are really nice. ICS was very good, JB is great. Google has really taken Android in the right directions this year. - 09-09-2012, 01:50 PM #62

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
I have only one complaint. An SMS text stops at 160 characters forcing you to stop typing, send, and start from your last character in a new message, even if in the middle of a word. Ideally, IMO, it should auto split at 160 and separate by full word, not by a character in the middle of a word.

Search seems to be a little messed up on my galaxy Nexus. Here's the link to thread I started.

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
I received the update, but when I went to reboot my phone froze on the shutting down screen. I had to take out my battery, and now I can't get my phone to get the ota. Is there something that would prevent it from finding the update since I have already downloaded it? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
That's the standard for most SMS apps and is the same on the GNex in Ice Cream Sandwich.
Many people got confused by that because the HTC Sense SMS App would split long messages into multiple messages. I suspect other third party apps do that as well, and I assume a lot of Sprint Gnex folks came over from the EVO 4G, which is an HTC phone.
However, this is not really an issue with JB, it is just the default behavior for the Messaging app that comes with vanilla Android.

What App(s) are you using to download pictures? I just tried with Dolphin Browser HD and it worked perfectly for me on WiFi. If you are using a specific App to download pics, please post the name of the App, otherwise it is hard to say what the problem is. - 09-09-2012, 06:55 PM #70
Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
I'll try that. good suggestion. To activate voice, i must first go into Google Now and then speak Google, and then speak my request? Right?

I am right with you. Same exact problem. Obviously an issue with something. We can only hope for an intermediate update before we receive Android 5.0, which I believe will be called Cheesecake. - 09-09-2012, 06:56 PM #71
Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
Tap the Microphone button and then speak you search, you don't have to say Google. "Search New York Yankees" should work, for example.
Also, the newer version of Google Now allows you to add sports teams directly via the settings. You don't have to do searches to add them, although this will add them if you search for specific teams regularly. Go Bronco's! - 09-09-2012, 07:27 PM #72

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
Next OS is indeed supposed to be called Key Lime Pie... Don't hold me to it but I think Google has already confirmed that is the correct name for the next OS installment.

Re: Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??
Aaaactually, the stock function of vanilla Android is to convert to MMS after 160 characters, and most CDMA Android devices have been edited to auto split at 160 on both Verizon and Sprint. This does neither. It just stops allowing you to type when 160 is reached. It's annoying as hell.
